Elke Dag – 90 tablets

Vitals Elke Dag Tablets has long been a popular variant in the Elke Dag range: a one-a-day multi in tablet form for adults aged 18 and over. The formula has been renewed on the basis of the latest scientific insights, aligned with current data on nutritional status in the Netherlands and Belgium and the optimal intake per nutrient. Where possible, specific compound forms have been chosen, in the right ratios and doses.

Why this formula?

B vitamins in active form. Elke Dag contains only the biologically active forms of vitamins B2, B6, B12 and folic acid: the forms the body uses. Vitamin B6 is present as pyridoxal-5’-phosphate (2.1 mg, well below the Dutch safe upper level of 21 mg), folate as 5-MTHF bound to a glucosamine salt (Quatrefolic®), which bypasses the conversion of synthetic folic acid, and vitamin B12 as methyl- and adenosylcobalamin instead of synthetic cyanocobalamin.

Choline in a relevant dose. In 2016 EFSA recognised choline as an essential nutrient with an adequate intake of 400 mg per day. Elke Dag contains 85 mg choline as VitaCholine®, above the 82.5 mg at which the European health claims for choline apply.

Vitamin D3 from algae. 25 µg vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) per tablet, produced from algae (Vitamin D3V®) rather than sheep's wool fat. This makes Elke Dag suitable for vegans too.

Vitamin K1 and K2. Vitamin K1 (37.5 µg) is mainly taken up by the liver; vitamin K2 as menaquinone-7 (75 µg) has a longer half-life and is distributed more widely across body tissues. Because vitamin K2 is sensitive to calcium and magnesium in the same tablet, Vitals uses K2VITAL™ DELTA: a double micro-encapsulated form for extra stability.

Minerals from the sea and as chelates. Calcium and magnesium come from Aquamin® (the red alga Lithothamnion and Irish seawater), with a high mineral content. Iron, zinc and copper are bound to the amino acid glycine (bisglycinate, Albion® TRAACS®): gentle on the stomach.

Silicon as MESOPOROSIL®. Until recently silicon was mainly available in liquid form. MESOPOROSIL® (Eytelia) dissolves in digestive juices, forming orthosilicic acid, which makes it suitable for use in a tablet.

Lutein, zeaxanthin, meso-zeaxanthin and Q10. Three carotenoids naturally present in high concentrations in the retina and macula of the eye, plus 40 mg coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone), a substance the body produces itself.

Usage

Take 1 tablet per day with a meal and water. Keep to the recommended dose. This food supplement is not suitable for children aged 10 and under (statutory statement for products containing more than 20 µg vitamin D per daily dose).

Please note

The vitamin K in this product makes it unsuitable for simultaneous use with coumarin derivatives (anticoagulants such as acenocoumarol and phenprocoumon). These medicines are also called vitamin K antagonists; their effectiveness is reduced by vitamin K intake from food and supplements. Consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Store dry, closed and at room temperature. Keep out of the reach of young children.

Plenthera Usage Tip

Take the tablet at breakfast or lunch with a glass of water. Vitamins A, D, E and K, Q10 and the carotenoids are fat-soluble, so take the tablet with a meal containing fat.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

What has changed in the new formula?

Vitals has renewed the Elke Dag multis based on current nutritional data and scientific insights. Elke Dag Tablets now contains, among other things, 75 µg vitamin K2 (previously 45 µg), 25 µg vitamin D3, iron at a responsible dose of 4 mg, and new additions: silicon as MESOPOROSIL®, 40 mg Q10, hesperidin, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin.

What makes Elke Dag different from other multis?

The formula contains only biologically active forms of B vitamins and mineral chelates (TRAACS®, Aquamin®), plant-based vitamin D3, both forms of vitamin K and a relevant dose of choline.

Is Elke Dag suitable for vegans?

Yes. The formula is 100% vegan, including plant-based vitamin D3 from algae (Vitamin D3V®).

Can I use Elke Dag with anticoagulants?

No. Because it contains vitamin K, the product is not suitable for simultaneous use with coumarin derivatives such as acenocoumarol or phenprocoumon. Consult your doctor.
