About the collection

Written by the Plenthera team (trained in orthomolecular nutrition). Scientifically reviewed in October 2026. Last updated: 5 October 2026.

Algomed is the German chlorella brand of Roquette Klötze. In Klötze (Saxony-Anhalt), Chlorella vulgaris is grown in a closed system of glass tubes – shielded from the outside air and without open ponds. At Plenthera you will find Algomed Chlorella in tablet form.

About Algomed

Most chlorella is grown in open basins, where weather, dust and other micro-organisms affect quality. Algomed opts for a closed photobioreactor: the algae grow in hundreds of kilometres of glass tubes, with controlled temperature, light and water quality. This makes the growing conditions easy to control and protects the alga from environmental contaminants.

Algomed is part of the French Roquette group, a major producer of plant-based ingredients. Production and processing into tablets take place in Germany.

Algomed Chlorella – 100 g

A jar of approx. 334 tablets of 300 mg, consisting of 100% Chlorella vulgaris, without binders or colourings. The daily dose of 10 tablets (3 g) naturally provides 3 µg vitamin B12 (120% of the reference intake). Vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to normal functioning of the nervous system, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to the normal function of the immune system. One jar lasts about 33 days.
